What is YUKO hair straightening and how does it work?
The YUKO process is not just about only straightening the hair. It re-texturizes/reconstructs the protein bond of your hair by making it flat, softer, humidity proof and easier to maintain.
Does YUKO hair straightening work on any type of hair?
YUKO hair straightening works perfect for most people. However, it is not recommended for bleach/highlighted, relaxed, and damaged hair. The best candidate for YUKO hair straightening is healthy virgin hair or hair that has been colored by a stylist with single process color (not box/home color). In my experience, I've found people with hair of ethnic descent hair are typically more resistant. It doesn't mean that you're not a candidate, we will just need to discuss realistic expectations at your consultation.
How is YUKO Japanese hair straightening different from Brazilian/Keratin treatment methods?
YUKO Japanese hair straightening permanently straightens hair by physically changing the internal structure off the hair. Brazilian/Keratin treatment are smoothing treatments only. They temporarily coat hair with keratin to smooth hair. Brazilian/Keratin treatments will wash out on average 3 months.
How long does the YUKO hair straightening process take?
3.5 to 8 hours, depending on your hair type, length and amount.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on the hair type, length, condition and amount of hair one has. Japanese straightening can range from $400 to $800. Retouches are priced on a $100 per hour basis. A price quote will be discussed at your consultation.
Do I need a consultation?
Yes, a consultation is required to decide if this service is right for you and to answer any questions. During the consultation, I will analyze your hair and make sure all of your questions are answered.
Can I swim in a pool or ocean?
Yes, Swimming, working out, beach is fine after your initial 2 day waiting period. Must wash hair first before the above activities can take place.
Can I color my hair a Japanese straightener?
Yes, an initial waiting period of 2 weeks is recommended, but after that, it can be professionally (single process) colored .

What is Keratin Complex® Keratin?
Keratin Complex’s Signature Keratin is a proven ingredient that acts as a powerful humidity blocker. It helps to stop frizz and repair damage to the hair. It gives hair incredible strength, making it more resilient against uncontrollable factors such as the sun, heat damage and age.
What is a smoothing treatment?
A keratin smoothing treatment is a professional treatment that helps repair damage, block humidity, and reduce frizz. Will reduce frizz by 75% to 90% depending on texture, curl and amount of frizz.
Do Keratin Complex smoothing treatments straighten the hair?
Keratin Complex smoothing treatment IS NOT A STRAIGTENER. Keratin Complex smoothing treatments reduce curl, target weak spots, and reinforce the hair’s structure, helping to repair damage, block humidity, and reduce frizz while leaving hair soft, silky, shiny, and smooth.
How long will the treatment last?
On average 3 months. Shampoo cannot contain the ingredient SODIUM CHLORIDE (treatment will not last as long). Regular use of Keratin Complex shampoos and conditioners will help maintain the longevity of the treatment.
